Megan McArdle has a long post with her concerns about government-run health care that are worth reading, because it brings up points worth considering.

Truth be told, I’m very torn on health care reform. On the one hand, the system we have sucks and there’s really no defending it. On the other hand, most of the reform proposals also suck. They are just slightly less sucky in the sense that they might provide more health care security than we currently have now. That’s far from ideal.

But the status quo is just awful. Beyond awful.
