David Weigel managed to put a chill in my bones by pointing out that the crowds for Mark Levin’s booksigning on his latest book Liberty and Tyranny were larger than those for Sarah Palin’s.

I am actually in the process of reading Liberty and Tyranny, which is a bad book even by the standards of political books. The central thesis of the book is a strawman, and it’s unclear to me that Levin has been exposed to any history past the jingoistic pablum that Americans received up to the 8th grade. Certainly he has no appreciation for nuance or grasping with issues.

I plan on writing more about this book when I finish, but do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time reading it.
